Hi there!

My name is Chris Hill, and I am an aspiring photographer originally from Queensland but now happily reside down on the surf coast of Victoria. Ever since high school I have always had a camera around me starting on film and eventually moving to digital.

Astronomy drives my passion for shooting the night sky. After joining the Astronomical Society of Victoria (ASV) a number of years ago, a whole new world of friendly and like-minded people has opened up to me. Now I am forever dedicated to improving my astrophotography techniques and skills. All of my digital processing and development is done in PixInsight and Photoshop. Astrophotography is a hobby that demands that you understand some very specialized equipment that takes time and patience and operate it under a clear night sky.

Portable Skywatcher Star Adventure has been my starting mount for tracking the night sky. This fueled my desire to take images of deep sky objects.
